New Course: CA2016 The Art of Caring: Working with children under three.

The Art of Caring - Sydney Rudolf Steiner College

This new course was developed to meet to the need for a specific training for those who work with children under three in settings such as home based child care, parent-child –groups, centre based care for under threes, and also for nannies and for parents who wish to learn more about care and education in the first three years of life based on the insights of Rudolf Steiner and the practice of caring for babies, toddlers and the child in the third year of life.

The last 10 years have seen an increase in demand for Steiner based child care, specifically in communities around Steiner schools and kindergartens in many countries. Some of the most experienced educators in Steiner child care internationally have developed new approaches in care practices based on a deepened understanding of the physical and spiritual needs of the very young child and the needs of their parents at this time of life.

This course supplements the already existing early childhood courses which mainly focus on children aged 3 – 6.

The two weekends form the first part of a course that is envisaged to comprise 6 weekends, delivered over 2 years. Statements of attainment will be available for each course section.
